What is AGWM MAPS Construction?

Since 1963, AGWM MAPS Construction teams have been ministering around the world. Volunteers assist national believers in building or repairing churches, orphanages, Bible School facilities and Teen Challenge centers. Some teams rebuild structures that were damaged or destroyed by a disaster. These one- to two-week trips help national fellowships grow and thrive, and give participants a chance to broaden their understanding of how God can use them.

What are the qualifications for participation in an AGWM MAPS Construction trip?

All AGWM MAPS Construction participants traveling overseas must be:
— At least 18 years old.
— Believers in good standing with their local Assemblies of God church and willing to influence others for Christ in an overseas culture.

All AGWM MAPS Construction teams must:
— Be under the direct supervision of an Assemblies of God missionary during the entire trip.
— Register with the AGWM MAPS Construction office in Springfield, MO.
— Obtain overseas insurance — a requirement for working with an Assemblies of God missionary.

These men and women come from a variety of occupations and they are willing to do whatever is needed to strengthen the overseas fellowship. Only about 15 percent of team members have experience in construction. By blending their abilities with others, God uses them to create something that will be a blessing for generations to come.

What impact does AGWM MAPS Construction teams have?

When people from an overseas community learn that men and women from the United States take vacations from their jobs, pay their own travel expenses, and provide funds for building materials to help a group of believers they have never met, they are more willing — even eager — to hear the gospel. Many have accepted Christ after watching teams in action.

AGWM MAPS Construction teams bless more than the church members in places where they labor. Working alongside believers from another country creates a lasting bond within the family of God. Often the experience challenges team members to examine their Christian walk more closely. On many trips, the lost receive Christ as their Savior and the sick are healed as U.S. believers share their testimonies and minister during a construction trip.

AGWM MAPS Construction trips give participants a chance to broaden their understanding of how God can use them. Team members who have never been actively involved in their home church are changed as they see miracles in their lives and in the lives of others. The sending church is then blessed and strengthened.

Bricks, mortar, hammers and nails can never bring revival by themselves. But when they are used by people eager to influence a hurting world for Christ, they become missions tools to help reach the lost with the gospel.
