Across the African continent
Assemblies of God churches are making preparations to launch the most
aggressive Pentecostal emphasis in the history of the movement in that continent.
The “Decade of Pentecost” emphasis
from 2010 — 2020 is aimed at seeing 10 million believers in Africa baptized in
the Holy Spirit and empowered as witnesses.
The Decade of Pentecost will
be officially launched on Pentecost Day, Sunday, May 23, 2010. The theme for Pentecost Day and the 2010—
2011 emphasis is “Empowered as Witnesses—Acts 1:8.”
On that day every pastor in
our 60,000 Assemblies of God churches in Africa will be encouraged to preach on
the baptism in the Holy Spirit and the Great Commission of Christ.
Denny and Sandy Miller are AGWM missionaries to
Africa and lead a ministry called Acts in Africa Initiative.
