Many Languages and Cultures in One Church

On November 15, 2009, Vienna Christian Center in Vienna, Austria, held its opening service and dedication of its new worship complex. What an exciting day as 58 different nationalities gathered to celebrate.
The new facility seats 600 adults and has a children’s department area for more than 200 kids, with a café and bookstore.
We now have two campuses and are able to hold simultaneous services, going from our current seven services each weekend in different languages and ethnic groups to 12 or 14.
Each weekend since the building has opened we have had powerful services where the presence of God has moved on people's hearts. Attendance is up, and we are now positioned to move to the next level of impact.
As we continue our work and ministry in Europe, our focus is still to be a ministry to reach the ethnic nations that are flooding into Europe through Vienna Christian Center.
Let me share a few highlights:
There are more than 50 different nationalities who attend VCC.
We now have more than 1,400 in our services every weekend and close to 2,200 who attend monthly.
Millions are coming to Europe from Africa, Asia, China, India and other nations. Our focus is to reach them and, as we do this, we are also reaching Austrians. We have hundreds of Austrians attending our services. What a blessing it is to see them experiencing God's grace and freedom.
Our theme Scripture is Zechariah 8:20-23 which reads:
This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come, and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the Lord and seek the Lord Almighty. I myself am going.’ And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the Lord Almighty and to entreat him.”
SHARING HOPE WITH THE LOST
Currently there are only 20,000 believers in Austria — that is less then one out of every 100. There are 275,000 foreigners in Vienna — our primary target!
We are here in Vienna among the ethic communities to reach the lost and to share the message of hope. Recently we baptized close to 30 people.
As we reach these ethnic groups, we train them to reach back out to their people in their own language. We currently have nine ethnic groups meeting for services on a regular basis.
